Take care of yourself on this well-deserved day off.

There's no need to get yourself back to the office: it’s a long-awaited bank holiday, and you want to make the most of it. So, take advantage of the break to give yourself some special care, and (re)start your week in a much better way than usual.

Bank holidays are always enjoyable: they're an opportunity to take time for yourself. Yet, few men actually make the most of these days off to rest properly. Here are some ideas to help you make the most of this extra day off.

Rest

We can never stress enough the importance of a good sleep routine. Sleeping between 7 and 8 hours a night can have many benefits. Firstly, it will help you to avoid dark circles, which can be pretty unsightly. A good night’s sleep will also simply reduce general feelings of fatigue, which affects - notably - your productivity. Take advantage of this Monday when you don't need to get up at the crack of dawn to sleep a little longer and catch up on any missed sleep. After lunch, indulge in a nap. Anything from a short power-nap, to a longer, more indulgent mid-afternoon siesta will do you some good. Hopefully, no one will disturb you. This way, you'll start the week in much better shape - and not just for the benefit of your office life!

Get yourself a proper breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day - or so your parents told you. Yet, often, your daily habits deprive you of this important moment. Since you sometimes skip it on Sundays too (that's the problem when you go out on Saturday night), don't make the same mistake on this bank holiday. Use your extra day off to prepare yourself a real breakfast (not a fry-up!) and finally understand why this meal is so important. For a recipe idea, you can follow Jean André's banana pancakes recipe without milk. It's easy, trust us.

Spend more time in the bathroom

Since, for once, you're not in a hurry, use your free time to do all those things that you don't necessarily take the time to do usually. A bank holiday, for example, could be an opportunity to do a face mask. This treatment, which takes about 10/15 minutes, is often overlooked by a busy man. Yet, it's very essential for deep cleaning your skin. This is of course an ideal moment to discover our Purifying Face Mask.

The same goes for Hair Conditioner, often neglected due to lack of time. Yet, it's the ideal product to strengthen your hair and make it more beautiful - and easier to style. Apply it after shampooing, for a few minutes, for perfect hair.

Of course, if you have a bathtub, it's the perfect opportunity to take the time to soak in a bath. Our Shower Gels are also great for an indulgent bath session. Again, take your time.

Do a little exercise session

Just like when you're on vacation, you have no excuse on a bank holiday to skip an exercise session. If you hide behind lack of time to justify a lack of motivation, this holiday has robbed you of that excuse. Go for a run, swim, play football with friends, or even just a walk. However, there's no need to indulge in a too long session: it's hard to push yourself too hard on a public holiday. For a short but intense session, think about HIIT (and don’t forget your Horace Toiletry Bag).

Do whatever you please

It's a bank holiday. You're free. Read, walk, play video games, go out with friends, stay with family, whatever.

Enjoy your rest!
