Introducing you to &Horace's notes.
Many of you wonder what it smells like. When choosing a perfume, knowing its scent notes is obviously essential. To help you and shed some light on the notes you’ll find in & Horace, our perfume, we asked Élise, our head of product development, to tell us what this customisable bottle contains.
Fresh top notes
“Among the top notes, which are the scents you’ll smell first, you’ll find white pepper and bergamot. The bergamot brings freshness, while the white pepper provides a spicy and peppery overtone. Mixing both together is what gives the fragrance its personality.”
Smooth heart notes
“After the top notes’ blast of freshness, come the much smoother heart notes. These notes consist of floral and woody yet light iris root, and cedarwood which you might find familiar as it’s often compared to pencil-shaving dust.”
Base notes you’ll immediately smell
“The base notes appear immediately, thereby ensuring there’ll be not bad surprises as the top notes begin to fade. The sandalwood smells warm and comfortable, while the musk adds a raw, smooth and addictive tone, which perfectly blends to any skin. These are reassuring scents. They help the fragrance feel both woody and smooth at the same time.”
An intimate fragrance
“If I had to describe & Horace to someone who’s never smelled it, I’d say it’s an intimate, skin scent. It’s a personal perfume. A fragrance for you and those who are close to you. Its base notes, such as sandalwood, appear immediately. I find it to be very reassuring. It feels comfortable, cosy. I could easily wear it in all seasons. It really comes into its own after a few hours, when you get to the centre of the fragrance and some of its smoother heart notes.”
Thank you, Élise!
