How Vintage Vanilla is made

Vanilla, a royal spice
Originally from Mexico, the Aztec emperor Moctezuma flavoured his chocolate drink with tlilxochitl, the “black pod”.

A true vanilla, rich and intense
The essence is extracted with CO₂ after eight months of maturation, from grade 1 pods — the very finest quality.

Leather, an emblematic note in perfumery
Among the oldest of notes, here it is built around a blend of suede, worn leather, and fresh leather accords.

Saffron, the red gold
From Crete, saffron is one of the most precious spices. Its crimson threads, hidden at the heart of the flower, hold all its richness.

Made in Grasse, the world’s perfume capital
Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
A tannery town that became a fragrance town to hide the bad odors of leather.

Handmade by Saïd
Saïd handmakes the entire concentrate.
He’s been preparing perfumes by hand for 30 years.
