It’s much more than a fancy dress party accessory.

Cleansing, exfoliating, moisturising: a skincare routine can often be limited to these three steps. But there is a fourth step that can make all the difference: the mask. A great way to intensify your cleansing ritual, it’s an excellent tool for clearer, healthier skin.

Why use a mask?

A mask allows active ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin. There are several different types: some cleanse and purify, others exfoliate, and some will focus on moisturising dry skin. They are a great way to give skin some extra TLC.

A cleansing mask, for example, absorbs impurities and leaves skin deeply purified, even more so than with just regular cleansing. Our purifying face mask is made with kaolin clay, which deeply purifies the skin to leave it clearer and more radiant.

A mask can be a regular rendez-vous for your skin: if it’s very dry or very oily, a mask can help regulate it. Used once a week, a mask is the perfect complement to your daily routine, and a great way to pay extra attention to any specific skin concerns you might have.

How to apply a face mask

Using a mask is basically child’s play. After cleansing your face, apply a sufficiently thick layer to your skin, and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.

Now, the most important thing is to figure out what you’ll do while you wait. A mask should be a relaxing moment, not a time to catch up on work emails or phone calls. Use the time to unwind with a book, have a look at football results, or even try some meditation.

Once the mask is dry, rinse it thoroughly with lukewarm water. And voila!
