Four months after the release of our range of superfatted soap bars, we're releasing a new Virginia Cedar and Sage Leaf-scented soap. You were waiting for it, and we're pleased to say it's finally available! Time for a fresh woodland stroll.
As the saying goes, "the more, the merrier". At Horace, we took it very literally, and as a result, we're releasing the latest addition to our range of superfatted soap bars: Virginia Cedar & Sage Leaf. It will complete an existing collection of four soaps, consisting of an exfoliating version with milled walnut shell and three other soaps with equally fresh and effective fragrances: Italian Bergamot & Peppermint, Orange Blossom & Petitgrain, Peppermint & Tea Tree. We're super happy to announce that your favourite Horace shower gel scent is finally available as a superfatted soap bar.
A belated release for this scent
We'd initially intended to release the Virginia Cedar & Sage Leaf soap at the same time as the others. Unfortunately, this scented soap bar's production was delayed because things didn't go as planned, as is sometimes the case. A few weeks before the (first) lockdown in France, the soap bars were the final project we would complete together as a team in the office before facing one of the many challenges 2020 decided to throw our way. Everything was going well until we received a first sample of the Virginia Cedar & Sage Leaf soap bar from the factory. It didn't smell at all. Nada, nothing, no smell, zero. Nowhere near the scent we were expecting, the one we like, and the one you love in our Virginia Cedar & Sage Leaf shower gel. We had no choice but to rework the formula and the fragrance without slowing down the entire process for the other soap bars. The aim was to have the rest of the range ready for a June release, just in time for summer, a.k.a. the ideal season for fresh showers with relaxing scents. It made more sense for us to start with four soaps and add to them when we were happy with the Virginia Cedar & Sage Leaf bar.
A happy accident after all
What was originally a challenging situation turned into a great opportunity. We would be able to offer a soap bar with comforting and soothing, almost nostalgic scents during a season that drastically requires it. Something that feels like a walk in the forest, followed by a cup of hot chocolate. As is the case for our shower gels, our soap bars' fragrances aim to provide you with a complete sensory experience. Like the rest of the range, this new scent is rich in fatty ingredients (such as olive and coconut oil), which moisturise the skin and prevent any tightness. We also managed to perfect its beautiful and surprising green colour (obtained with natural dyes), which is both invigorating just to look at and a reference to its woody scent. With this new soap bar, you'll be able to enjoy a woodland escape while taking care of yourself!
