Everything will be alright.
It's an easy but potentially dangerous habit to go out on Thursday evenings. Of course, the temptation is always there to spend a night with your mates: but, the next day, when your alarm goes off at dawn - or almost - so that you arrive at the office on time, you’ll regret it. First of all, because you are tired. Then, because your hangover is likely to show on your face throughout the day - that’s already too long.
There’s no need for us to go through the hassle of explaining to you what a hangover is. You’re an adult, you know by now. However, note that it gets worse as your blood alcohol level approaches zero. You will therefore be even less efficient at 5pm than at 9am. Good luck!
A hangover at the office can have many consequences: first of all, your productivity is reduced, which is the result of all that booze gradually dissipating in your body. Then, your colleagues, or even your boss, will easily be able to make fun of you. That’s maybe a consequence that you didn't think about when you ordered your fourth shot of tequila.
Because we’re good like that, here’s a few tools that will allow you to get back on track to face a Friday that promises to be long - and perhaps succeed in getting away with it.
Your showerProbably the most important part of your hangover day. Don’t do anything without taking the time to shower. To give you the extra motivation you need to tackle the day, a cold shower could really be of great help. If you don't feel like submerging yourself under cold water, a hot shower will obviously be better than nothing. Use our Virginia Cedar & Sage Leaf Shower Gel. Its fresh scent will wake you up, transporting you to a waterfall in the Appalachians. A great place to spend a hangover day, really.
Your faceIn the shower,
Next, apply a moisturizer. Like your mouth, your face is probably seriously dehydrated. Your usual moisturizer will undoubtedly get you off to a good start. A hangover will be unbearable if your skin is tight.
Your hairThen again, sweat could have made your hair dirty. If you feel like hiding your hair under a cap (this option also has the advantage of making you go incognito), it's always better to wash it when you're in the shower. Apply a little Cream Pomade. If your hair is good, everything will be better, that's for sure.
Your mouthIt’s a fact that if you don’t do anything, you’re going to have bad breath. To avoid this, start by brushing your teeth, then use a mouthwash to eliminate bacteria still present in your mouth after washing. Safety first.
Don’t hesitate to drink plenty of water, your body needs it. Your breath too. Your colleagues too.
Your deodorantWhen you're hungover, your body tends to sweat more than usual. Deodorant will then be very necessary for you to avoid becoming that unsavory character who hangs around the coffee machine. Apply it as soon as you feel the need. You can never have enough.
Your eyesHangovers are often accompanied by red eyes. To avoid them, wear sunglasses and avoid screens for a while if you can. Go make photocopies. Or meetings (without sunglasses, preferably).
To avoid dark circles and have a fresher look, use Anti-Fatigue Under-Eye Patches. In 15 minutes, they’s instantly reduce dark circles and under-eye bags, and you’ll look - and crucially feel! - more awake.
Your shirtWhen getting dressed, opt for a pink shirt. The hue will help you look healthier than you really are. They work miracles for your appearance, and are much more effective when you have a pale complexion than white shirts.
With all this, you will at least look presentable. For the rest, a little coffee, a full breakfast and a lot of courage should be enough to face this difficult day. May the odds be ever in your favor!
