A shiny forehead is both a sign of sebum overproduction and slightly embarrassing. Horace has a few tips to avoid shining during your Christmas dinner because nobody wants to look like a Christmas ball.
First off, keep in mind that all skin types – whether oily, combination or dry – produce sebum (a lipidic film that prevents skin from drying out). Depending on skin types and individuals, this production sometimes becomes excessive and gives the forehead a shiny appearance. For some, the shine can even rival that of a Christmas decoration.
Oily forehead: an issue?
It's preferable to let your ideas shine rather than your excess sebum. A shiny forehead is something to worry about when it becomes a daily occurrence, and not a day goes by without your face looking oily. Moreover, if you often have pimples on your forehead, chances are the area is particularly oily. The problem should therefore be treated accordingly.
How to avoid having a shiny forehead?
We recommend cleansing your skin regularly with our purifying face cleanser and moisturising it properly (once or twice a day, depending on your needs) with light cream, such as our mattifying face moisturiser. It's best not to stop moisturising an oily forehead totally – this will only make the problem worse since dehydrated skin tends to produce more sebum as a reaction to its dryness.
Using a purifying face mask on your T-zone can help you deeply cleanse the oily area and unclog pores that are most prone to blackheads. Another good solution is our Oil control duo consisting of our purifying face mask and our tonic lotion. The combination of both products' benefits helps eliminate imperfections, excess sebum, and therefore unwanted shine.
